Handmade Resin and Wood Cheese and Charcuterie Boards
All my cheese boards are handcrafted from start to finish. The wood used is sustainably sourced locally from trees that have come to the end of there natural lives, storm damaged or felled for being dangerous. The wood is kiln dried for 6-8 weeks to ensure that they will not warp or twist.
Once the boards are cut out they are sanded, sanded and sanded some more. This creates a smooth base for the resin art. As resin art is a flow art it goes on liquid before being left to cure for 48 hours. Then it’s back to sanding the backs to remove resin residue and all the boards are finished with a food safe mineral oil to bring up the beauty of the wood grain. All resin cheese & charcuterie boards are shipped with an extra bit of mineral oil to keep your board in tip top condition as with continued use the wood becomes dry naturally. I wouldn’t use a knife to cut on the resin as it will mark but if you wish to use it as a chopping board a handy trick is to place it upside down on a tea towel on the counter and chop away on the back of the board. Boards are not dishwasher safe.
